Ultrastuds Triple Playground

Well hopefully I can start the tear down in the next few weeks, my current plans are cosmetic and shedding weight from the Ultra. And when I say shed weight I mean getting DRASTIC! I've been searching the internet for about 2 months now doing searches on titanium, whata job that's been, but I've finally found suppliers that are close enough, and who supply the kind of material I'll need for a project like this. As you can guess they don't give this stuff away for free, at .82 cents to $2.85 PER INCH depending on the size for titanium bar stock, and .75 cents to 2.85 for misc bolts, nuts and washers, this will be a drawn out process as the funds allow. My goal is to unleash the lightest, most powerful Ultra on the trails and ditches in MN.
Cosmetic Goals:
#1 remove the hood, strip the decals and shoot it with a new coat of "jet" black paint, replace the decals with something custom, simular to those on the Ultra SPX.
#2 remove the the engine and completely "cut and polish" the entire engine (including the clutches and carbs) all of the aluminum bolts on the engine will be replaced with anodised aluminum (purple)..
#3 "cut and polish" the entire tunnel, replace the stock seat with a custom BOSS seat.
#4 all radius rods and sterring components and the suspension will be powder coated.
#5 a new Cobra wind shield and hand gaurds will round out the cosmetic process.

Weight Reduction Goals:
#1 Replace the Xtra-10 rear skid with a 121' EDGE suspension (already have the suspension) I'm not sure if I'll see any weight savings but it should be a much better ride.
#2 Replace the steel trailing arms with aluminum trailing arms.
#3 Replace stock radius rods and all steering components with custom made titanium parts, also any steel bolt, nut or washer has gotta go, replace with titanium .
#4 I already have the plastic skis to replace the "stock" steel skis.
#5 I've already replaced the stock single pipe and can with a set of SLP triple pipes.
#6 As stated above the stock seat will come off and be replaced with a new BOSS seat, BOSS "claims" a 6lb. weight saving over stock.

As the teardown proceeds, and stock parts are replaced with new parts, I'll be posting pics of the whole project from start to finish.
