Personal Profile...
My name is James Malueg (Ma-leeg). I reside in Appleton, Wisconsin and have lived here my entire life. I've seen the good winters and the bad.
Interests...
I am a sports nut, I'll listen to or watch football, basketball, hockey, baseball, and track even. I coach JV football at Freedom H.S. I also coach track out at Freedom as well in an assistants role. Also, I waterski and attempt to wakeboard, but I'm a much better skier. I built my own computer recently and would call myself of average computer experience, but this helped a lot.
The Last Few Years
I'm currently attending Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, WI. I'm trying to obtain my associates degree in Electro-mechanical Technologies. I love it, but just not as much as snowmobiling. But, While I go to school during the day I also hold down a job, I've been employed at Kimberly Clark, Appleton Coated, United Parcel Service, and Best Buy while in school. Best Buy is where I currently work, it doesn't pay for much, but it gets the job done. Also, I'm in my second year of coaching football at Freedom High School. Also, I'm in my third year of coaching track, one year at another school, but this will be the second year at Freedom High School.
I graduated from Kimberly High School in 2004, during that time I participated in football, track, basketball, and powerlifting. Beyond that HS was boring for me, my class didn't exactly have a lot of character guys.
Sledding History...
Obviously I like to snowmobile. My dad had an old Snow Pony and an old Nordic as long as I can remember. When I was four my dad bought a 1990 Ski-Doo MX, it was a 468cc sled with a non-exsistant suspension. But, we still piled 3 people on it every once in a while, to go on the trails. In 1992 my dad got a Safari which was a little 370 Ski-Doo. 65-70 mph on the speedo was all you could hope for. The MX blow a rod bearing in 1999 and the Safari actually still runs today, bgut it is no longer in our possesion. In 1998 my dad found a 1997 Ski-Doo Formula 583 in the paper for and insane price. As it happened the women's husband had died, so he basically stole it from her! That is his current sled. Prett nice, it came with less than double-digit mileage. And never had to rebuild until recently. But by the time she let loose, he had nearly 13,000 mi on it! My mom now needed a sled slightly faster than the Safari to keep my dad out of trouble so he found her a 1998 Formula 500 in 1999. The mag side cylinder had burned down and so the price was right. Came with over 100 miles, but a very nice sled. She has yet to rebuild her sled and it has been through it's share of abuse by myself. But, she has 11,000 and counting!
In 2003 my brother brought home his first sled. A slightly beat up 1989 Indy 650. I was skeptical of the sleds power in the beginning, but once winter rolled around, I was impressed. We did a complete suspension rebuild on the front suspension, which really was good experience. He bought a new seat and added triple pipes, however he never really, really had it dialed in. But, it impressed me still and I looked for a 650 for quite awhile before I found my RXL up on e-bay. Now I mainly work on my sled and my parent's sleds. Now, the goal is to make my RXL faster than a RS Venture! My dad has a buddy that alsways frowned upon older sled and didn't buy one until his Yamaha in 2003. Now he has 4 sleds. But, he's always bragging about his 05' Venture can outrun any of the sled we run with. Last year he beat me by a somewhat slim margin for having 20 HP on me. This year I evened the playing field, but his Ripsaw still may give him the advantage. This is also my brother's goal, he has turned his playing field upside down, but, he has managed to keep it pretty well hush, hush. His 650 is recieving a 732 BB kit. So I will enjoy that race this year!
