Guestbook
My sled is a 2003 Polaris Pro-X 800, or as I like to call it, a Pro-XMK. My version of a Pro-X RMK. It definitly would've been easier and cheaper to buy an RMK, but I really like this sled now that I've got it setup good. It's perfect for all the various types of riding that I do.
When I bought this sled in March of 2005 it was a stock Pro-X 800 121" besides a single pipe, airbox, flowrites, and reeds. Here is a picture of what it looked like when I bought it. It had 1300 miles on it at that time. Since then this sled has changed considerably. These 800's aren't setup worth a crap from the factory, but I knew it had potential.
BEFORE:
AFTER:
Current as of January '07.
Current Mods:
BOSS Highrise Seat
Tracks USA 144" Kit
Camoplast Challenger 144"x15"2" fully clipped, notched for coolers
SLP single pipe/can
SLP Airhorn Kit
2 SLP Flowrites in the dash
V-Force 3 reeds
1200psi one piece motor plate
N2oiroc's torque arm
SLP MAG side push arm
ATACC
6" billet Rec Riser
42-20 gearing with 74 pitch chain
PTO bearing mod done by IndyDan.
I bought a clear gas tank and black cover for it after winter was over as well, because the mechanical gas gauge on these sleds are worthless. I will also be removing the swaybar, adding a custom rear heat exchanger, Ice scratchers and SLP Powder Pro skis before next winter.
Other Possible Future Mods:
Twin pipes (More HP is always good
)
Aftermarket head
PERC
narrow ski stance to 39 or 40"
8" billet rear wheels
....and if I win the lottery I will put a 1200cc Polaris watercraft motor in it with a Van Amburg Boondocker tunnel with a 159" track and suspension.
