1994 POLARIS XLT SPECIAL
The following is a dyno chart of a stock 1994 XLT. The same engine, carbs, exhaust, etc. was used in the standard XLT and XLT Special in both 1993 and 1994. As you can see, at 88 peak hp, it's no longer a world beater.
Note the lackluster power output up until about 6300 rpm. This is a very noticeable trait of the XLT and I would suppose is the reason why many people complain about the lack of takeoff with these sleds. I plan to remedy this problem with some clutching changes.
1994 was the last year for the 580 as they moved to a larger bore for the 1995 model year. The 600 did however retain the 34mm carbs in both the standard XLT and the XLT Special. I believe the 95 XCR was the first monoblock triple to get the 38mm carbs.
