2006 Mud racing and Jalopy rules

1) No alcohol or drugs permitted. Presence of alcohol and or drugs will automatically disqualify the driver and vehicle from competition WITHOUT REFUND.
2) It is mandatory that a driver be seated in the drivers seat anytime the engine in running.
3) No high speed driving or hot-dogging will be tolerated in the pits or staging areas.
4) We reserve the right to retech a vehicle at anytime to insure the vehicle is safe.
5) Vehicle must be is overall good shape and safe operating condition.
6) Truck body must be firmly attached to the chassis.
7) All loose objects must be removed from the interior and bed of truck before competing.
8) Vehicles battery must be securely held down. No straps, bungee cords, rope ect
9) Vehicles with doors removed or fiberglass bodies must have drivers side door bars.
10) Vehicles with open tops must be covered to prevent hands or arms from exiting the vehicle in the event of a rollover.
11) Shirt and pants required for competition. SFI approved fire suit required for Pro Truck competition and is highly recommended for Limited Modified competition
12) Truck must make 2 of the 3 runs to be eligible for points and payout.
13) A truck may be registered more than once at any race with a name, number and driver change, regardless, only 1 prize per truck/team can be awarded.
14) There are no limitations to the number of drivers a truck may have through out a season. However any and all drivers must either have a current race license or have paid the temporary license fee for that race day. If a person races a truck with out a license or before paying a temporary license fee, the truck will not be awarded prizes for that race day.
15) A truck may be replaced without loss of points at any time in the season. If a truck is destroyed, damaged beyond repair, or simply is replaced with a different truck the points will remain under the identity or number of the replaced truck. The replacement truck must have the same identity and or number as the previous truck in order for the replacement truck to continue with out loss of previous points.

Mud stock and limited-modified classes will be racing side by side where the tracks permit it. Special rules will be enforced to control any problems that may occur on the track.
Accidental rubbing, bumping, and collisions are bound to happen and are to be expected. No intentional contact will be allowed even if both parties agree to it, unless specialized event is scheduled permitting such.

Street stock

1) Stock trucks must remain completely stock. No performance modifications may be made (example: steering, suspension, engine, carburetor, intake, exhaust, or chassis upgrades of any kind) unless the vehicle has a current registration, insurance, and inspection.
2) Some safety modifications may be allowed such as glass removal, the installation of a window net, fire extinguisher, roll bar or roll cage. Any roll bar or cage must be in good condition with complete welds. No bars that are half welded will be allowed. Tech inspectors reserve the right to deny any vehicle that is unsafe.
3) If the vehicle has a current and legal registration, inspection, and insurance, modifications will be allowed to the vehicle. Dealer, transport, and or any other form of temporary registration will not be allowed. Proof of registration and insurance will be required in order to register for a race.

4) If a vehicle is not licensed then it may participate in the stock class only if there are no performance modifications.
5) No nitrous or aftermarket turbo chargers / blowers allowed. Vehicle must run on gasoline or diesel. Alcohol and or propane are not permitted.
6) Driver must use a seatbelt during competition.
7) A full-face helmet is required, motor sport approved neck collars highly recommended.
8) Appropriate footwear is required. Open toe/sandals not permitted.
9) Shorts and Tank tops are not permitted during competition.


Mud stock/budget trucks

1) Engine must remain in stock front engine configuration
2) A 3inch, 4-point harness/restraint system is recommended ,oem belts are acceptable.
3) All harness mounting brackets should be mounted directly to the roll cage of the truck. Do Not mount to sheet metal floor or rear of cab. Under no circumstances are bolts to be inserted through the belt webbing.
4) Firewall and full floor are mandatory

Chassis

1) Drive shaft loops are mandatory on all drive shafts exceeding 12inches in length. Loops must be a minimum of 1inch x 1/4inch steel or 3/8inch chain.
2) Only stock frames will be permitted. Modifications/Additions for strength and or safety purposes permitted. Tube frame chassis will not be permitted.
3) Vehicles must resemble a truck, Jeep or SUV. Bodies must cover 50% of the frame.
4) All vehicles should have a master cut off switch located at the rear of the vehicle that will shut off engine and all electrical power.
5) All relocated radiators must be shielded from the driver in the event of a coolant leak.
6) All vehicles must have some type of front bumper. Exposed frame horns are not permitted.

Suspension

1) The maximum wheel travel cannot exceed 14inches, both front and rear.
2) Front and rear 4 link and or radius arm suspensions permitted if were stock option.
3) Aftermarket suspension upgrades permitted up to 6 inches.
4) Quarter elliptical, fiberglass, carbon fiber or composite springs will not be permitted.
5) Cantilever and or compound suspensions will not be permitted.
6) Multiple shock kits are permitted.
7) Shocks that are remotely adjusted from the driver’s compartment or while the vehicle is in motion are not permitted.
8) Sway bars are permitted, but may not act as a shock mounting point.



Steering

1) Stock steering configurations are acceptable. No aftermarket or high steer kits allowed. Manual steering suggested. Drop pitman is allowed.

Engine/Fuel

1) Engine must remain in stock OEM location.
2) Engine must have cast iron OEM heads.
3) Maximum valve lift of .500inch.
4) Stroking and Destroking is not permitted. OEM production engine configurations only.
5) No more than .030 inch over stock bore.
7) Engine must be stock. No aluminum intakes unless OEM from the factory. Larger pistons, aftermarket camshafts and or aftermarket heads will not be permitted.
8) Blowers/ superchargers not allowed.
9) No fuel lines, oil lines or coolant lines allowed in driver’s compartment. Coolant lines that run through the cab must be shielded from the driver with a firewall.
10) Fuel additives are NOT permitted. This includes but is not limited to: alcohol, nitro methane and or nitrous oxide. Must run on pump gas. Racing fuel and aviation fuel will not be permitted.
11) All fuel systems will not exceed a single 4bbl style carburetor. A Predator carburetor will be permitted.
12) A minimum of 2 throttle return springs is required.
13) Fuel cell is recommended. Cell is to be securely mounted within the frame rails. Fuel cells must have a ground strap from the filler neck to the frame. OEM tanks are also permitted.

Wheels/Tires/Brakes

1) All vehicles must have operable brakes on all 4 wheels that apply adequate braking force to lock-up all 4 wheels.
2) Pinion brakes and or steering brakes not permitted.
3) Tires and rims must be DOT approved. Aftermarket wheels with bead locks will be permitted.
4) Recaps are not permitted.
5) Studded tires and or tire chains will not be permitted.
6) Minimum 15 lbs air pressure per tire.

Limited-Modified (combined class)

1) A 3inch, 4-point harness/restraint system is mandatory.
2) All harness mounting brackets should be mounted directly to the roll cage of the truck. Do Not mount to sheet metal floor or rear of cab. Under no circumstances are bolts to be inserted through the belt webbing.
3) Full fire suit is mandatory for competition. Must be SFI approved.
4) A full-face helmet is required, Minimum Snell 90/ DOT 218.
5) Motor sport approved neck collars highly recommended.
6) Vehicle must have a secure 2 ½lb or larger fire extinguisher within reach of driver while strapped in.
7) Appropriate footwear is required. Open toe/sandals not permitted.
8) Firewall and full floor are mandatory.

9) Roll Cage:
a) All vehicles must be equipped with a 6point roll cage attached to the frame in no less than 6 places.
b) Roll cage must be constructed of at least 1 1/2inch x .120inch wall tubing or 1 3/4 inch x .90inch wall tubing.
c) Door bars are mandatory on driver’s side. Door bars are required on both sides of a centered seat vehicle.
d) Bends must be continuous round .sharp bends or corners must be adequately gusseted for added strength.
e) If the roll cage is padded the welds must be exposed for inspection.
f) Manufactured Show or Dress bars will not be permitted.

Engine/Fuel

1) Engine must remain in stock front engine configuration.
2) Engine setback cannot exceed 15% of overall wheelbase, measured from the centerline of the front axle to the front of the engine block.
3) Blowers/ superchargers not allowed.
4) No fuel lines, oil lines or coolant lines allowed in driver’s compartment. Coolant lines that are run through the cab must be shielded from the driver with a firewall.
5) Fuel additives are NOT permitted. This includes but is not limited to: alcohol, nitro methane and or nitrous oxide. Racing fuel IS permitted.
6) All fuel systems will not exceed a single 4bbl style carburetor. A Predator carburetor will be permitted.
7) Aftermarket fuel injection will be permitted.
8) A minimum of 2 throttle return springs is required.
9) Fuel cell is required. Cell is to be securely mounted within the frame rails.
10) A ground strap from filler neck of fuel cell to the frame is required.

1) Rear steering is not permitted.
2) All vehicles should use mechanical type steering boxes. Hydraulic steering is also permitted but not suggested
3) Power assisted rack and pinion will be permitted.
4) Manually operated, bias control, hydraulic staging or steering brakes are not permitted.

Wheels/Tires/Brakes

1) All vehicles must have operable brakes on all 4 wheels that apply adequate braking force to lock-up all 4 wheels.
2) Pinion brakes and or steering brakes not permitted.
3) Tires and rims must be DOT approved. Cutting and or Grooving of DOT tires is permitted. Aftermarket wheels with bead locks will be permitted.
4) Recaps are not permitted.
5) Studded tires and or tire chains will not be permitted.

[size=6]2006 – JALOPY RULES[/size=6]

4 and 6 cylinder Jalopy cars only

1. Must have working seatbelt
2. Must have helmet
3. Must have working brakes
4. Headlights and taillights must be removed
5. No tire chains or studded tires
6. Must have guard rail or skid bar on drivers door painted yellow or white to contrast body color
7. All doors including hatch backs must be welded or chained shut
8. Car number must be clearly marked on both sides of the car and roof
9. All loose items must be removed from car before race begins
10. Air bags must be diploid before race
11. Front bumpers can be stiffened but must not exceed past stock bumper location, can only be mounted to frame in 2 locations
12. 4 point Roll cage is optional but highly recomended
13. All side and rear windows must be removed, can use windshield or ½” screening, Sunroof glass must be removed and covered with sheet steel
14. Must wear long sleeve shirt, jeans and boots – No shorts or open toe shoes
15. Removal of exhaust is recommended
16. NO DRINKING OR DRUGS ALLOWED!!!
17. 4 or 6 cylinder front wheel drive only
