Took my first ride today!! Yippey! Went a wopping 42 miles. We dropped at 39/219 in Springville and went to the outer limits of the Village of Ellicottvile. It felt great to finally get out. It was my first ride on my new sled. I took it easy for the first, oh 10 seconds on it. I hit the first little jump I saw and everyone after that! I really love my new sled. I think the part that I am most happy with is the track. It's my first time with a track like this ( 136 x 1.25 x 16). I definatly noticed a difference from the old track on the 98 Formula Z. It didn't spin as much when I got on it and I got out of some deeper snow that I would have had a harder time in with my other one. Well it feels good to give this update. First ride, finally!

Went for a ride today again finally. Second one of the season. It was great. Good trails, decent snow, not alot of mud.I went to my freinds cabin to see if I could make it there. I made it there with no problems. Stopped in, drained the snow monster then headed out.

I was only ten minutes from his cabin, driving through the woods, minding my own business (see where this is going) when all of sudden I was jolted to the left. I was doing probably 15 to 20 mph through the woods. The trails in this section are only wide enough to get 1 sled by. If another sled is on the trail you have to go off the packed trail into the powder to let one another pass. Anyways, after I got my bearings I got off and slowly looked at the front end of my sled. I had this exact thing happen to me 3 years ago to my 98 FZ and it really hurt he pocket book. So I cleard most of the ice and crap off and to my surprise there was nothing broke/bent (or so I thought). So I took a look at the trail wehre I hit to see what it was. It was a buried stump on the edge of the trail. It was about 2 feet high and 6 inches around or so. What it looked like happened was I just skimmed he side of the stupid thing. I stayed on the sled the whole time and was just thrown to the left a little. So I did another once over, started the sled and took off. Well needless to say something wasn't right. My bars were turned right a little. If I held them straight I would drive to the right. I could just feel it wasn't right. So I took it slow until I got to a main section in town and called my buddy to pick me up. He came and got me and we dropped it off at the Doo dealer. I really wanted to try and take care of it myself, I just couldn't find anything wrong that I was familier with. I was real familer with the old S-200 and ZX chasis, but I am till getting use to the Rev.

Once we got there they said it may be the lower A arm. It was tough to tell. The hole ski/suspension assembly was pushhed back about 2 inches. The shock was not equal on both sides inside the a arm. So they are going to tear it apart and let me know tommorrow.

It hurts. I'd like to belive it wasn't my fault but...well you guys know what it is like. I can't blame the trail or the snow. So hopefully I will be out this weekend. I didn't take any pics because, well there is nothing to see at the moment.

I feel like this is my punishment for going out by myself. I have only ever gone out once with out a buddy and that was when I landed on the edge of a pond and waited for about 2 hours for a sledder to pull me out. Anyways, thanks for listening everybody. I'll keep this updated.

Well the sled is ready for the summer. A measly 112 miles this year. My worst ever. The sled will probobally run more this summer when I start it every other week or so then it did this winter. I guess I can say the same thing now that I say every year at this time. I can't wait for next winter. I think I can still say next year "My new 05 Reneage X." That should still apply, right? Well I 'll keep everybody posted with any changes I plan on doing. A few are taking a sticker or two off, getting the tunnel polished, removing the rack on the back and having a LED installed, take off the yellow wheels and find some billet ones. Just little cosmetic things for now. I may get a can this year and say screw the man!!! I want a can!!!

Well I got some of the parts in. Billet rear wheels for the rear, off set axle, black 440 wheels for the front 4 relpacing the 135 with the 140's, and torsion spring bushings for the rear. I have been putting off going to Line-X and I'm not sure why? Just lazy I think. The sled is all set though as far as taken apart. The rear skid is out, the grips and rail guards are all off. I plan on replacing the old ones with new black rails guards and having the tunnel stiffeners powder coated with the rear grab bar. So to sum it up. The next thing to do is the Line-X, I think. Pics to be added soon.

Well I finally got around to putting the pictures of the sled on the page. I wanted to go with something different. Form what I have seen there are a lot of sleds like mine out there, but thats OK. I thought of more white, but I am happy with the way it turned out. I spent a lot of money on little things this year. The only thing I will take care of mid year is the slides and maybe go to bigger torsion springs (diet isn't going so good). The slides are about half way so when they are shot I'll go to black slides as well. I guess they make white ones now so I may go to white instead.

Next years goal: Clutch kit will be the priority. I will also assess my shock situation. That will be pricey. I don't think the rears are rebuildable so I may have to take a look else where at new ones. I was thinking of talking to the guys at Hygear. I heard a lot of good from Barbarian about the Axis shocks he had built. That should probably shoot the budget for next year. Lastly is the ever pressing question...."to pipe and can" ?????

Well I made it out, finally! Did a little tooling around a local park. I only did about 10 miles or so. It felt good though. I got to try out some suspension changes I made and so far I am happy! I got a sled up to about 80 or so and let me tell you, it feels great! Thats it for today, hopefully this is finally the start of a great season!
